Journey Home to Your Heart"

A Big, Beautiful Welcome to The Tamarack Shack Homestead. I am Jules, and together with my partner Tim, we are homesteaders who want to share the beauty and experience of this sacred land.
We have cared for this land for the last 25 years - and our ancestors did before us. We initially lived here on the land in a tiny home (before Tiny Homes existed?!) It is called "The Tamarack Shack" and is a 10x10 cabin that we built by hand out of tamarack trees on our land. We lived there - without power or water for 4 years. It's still standing, but is home to many critters now, but is still the reason our land is called “The Tamarack Shack Homestead."

Prior to our stewardship, this 100 acres was a sheep and cattle farm - heavily overgrazed and needing some loving. We've spent the last two and a half decades planting 25,000 trees, digging 3 ponds, and
erecting fencing and outbuildings for 15 acres of pasture.
Today we tend 3 large garden beds, and a whole menagerie of animals.
Our farm adventures include hands-on time with our beloved animals (goats, sheep, ponies, alpacas, pigs, bees and rabbits); and time to explore the trails and the labyrinth. We offer a roadside farm stand with fresh eggs and seasonal veggies, herbs, honey, maple syrup and crafts.
We are excited and honoured to share our deep love of this place with you. Come for a visit and fall in
love too!
